Musikfest announces food lineup stuffed with ‘Fest favorites and new faces

Thursday afternoon brought another sign that Musikfest is swiftly approaching: food.

Yes, the all-important lineup of the 10-day festival’s food vendors was released, mapping out which vendors would be at which platzes throughout the festival. In total, there are 47 vendor spots, though a few are just a second location for some ‘Fest favorites.

Of the vendors at this year’s festival, eight of them are new to Musikfest. The Bagel Bus, Dinky’s Ice Cream and Le Petit Macaron will be posted up on Bethlehem’s Southside at Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks for their first festival experience. The rest of the new faces — Pat’s Pizza & Bistro, Philly Waffle Cabin, Randevoo, Simply Skewered and Cubano X-Press — will be peppered around the platzes and pavilions of the north side.

In addition to new vendors, ArtsQuest itself will be serving food to ‘Fest-goers through its in-house restaurant and bar, Palette & Pour, for the first time. Menu items will include Levy’s half-pound burger, chicken sandwiches from The Cluckery, AQ brined buffalo wings and more.

Of course, the new additions are a priority to check out, but over 10 days of festing, there’ll be plenty of room for returning favorites. Among the dozens of vendors are some of the Musikfest food scene’s greatest hits: Chick’n’Cone will be at Zinzenplatz; Take A Taco is going to be pulling double-duty at Festplatz and Provident Bank Main Street; “Aw Shucks” Roasted Corn will be doing the same at Handwerkplatz and T-Mobile Plaza Tropical; and The Flying V will be on the Southside at Americaplatz, just a few blocks from their brick-and-mortar location.

As much as festival-goers will be excited to have their favorite vendors back in their lives, those feelings will likely be reciprocated. Coming off of a year where COVID-19 limited Musikfest to a mostly virtual format and very few in-person festival food opportunities on the SteelStacks’ campus, some vendors lost out on a ton of regular business when, in a normal year, they’d be making as much as half their year’s intake. So, getting back to 10 days of hungry music listeners is exactly what they wanted to see on the menu.

This year, Musikfest is running from Aug. 6 to Aug. 15, so plan your exercise schedules accordingly to balance the upcoming 10 days of feasting.
